The honorary guests and executives of the leading branch departments and companies came to greet the participants and visitors of these events. The VIP-delegation comprised Youri Boyko, Chairman of the Managing Board of Naftogas of Ukraine; Arkadi Demidenko, First Deputy of the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Transport of Ukraine; Boghdan Kluke, Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry for Fuel and Power Engineering of Ukraine and other executives.

Youri Boyko was the first to deliver a welcoming speech. In particular, he said that the subjects of all three events were extremely urgent for both the company he represented and the activity of the whole petroleum sector of Ukraine. Mr. Boyko informed that the up-to-date equipment and services displayed at the fairs would be highly appraised by the companies operating in our market.

On behalf of the Ministry of Fuel and Power Engineering of Ukraine, Boghdan Kluke thanked the participants of the events for the development of the profile industries of Ukraine. Mr. Kluke hopes that the majority of advanced models displayed at the fairs would be put in operation by domestic enterprises in the nearest future.

After the VIP-delegation visited to exhibits, the AUTOEXPO opened a press conference dedicated to the opening of the fairs. At the beginning of the meeting, Mrs. Dyatlova, Director of AUTOEXPO, made a brief review of the three effective fairs having noted that year in, year out the number of their participants and the occupied exhibition area increase.

The achievements and plans of the domestic vertically integrated company UkrGasVydobuvanna raised a lively interest from the side of journalists. The geological prospecting of the company in Ukraine amounts to 80% of the total exploration activity. From now on, the company plans to increase the production of propane-butane. In 2003, it hopes to reach the figure of 200 thousand tons; in 2004 - 250 thousand tons.

In the course of discussion of the petroleum subject, the pressmen asked to explain how the oil companies intended to increase the declared gas production in Ukraine. Boris Sinuke, Deputy Director General of UkrGasVydobuvanna, informed that the petroleum industry of Ukraine as a whole has to stake on intensification of old gas-bearing formations because 80% of all existing deposits have been worked out.

The briefing of TNK Ukraine "New Programs to Support TNK Ukraine Service Stations. Technologies. Solutions. Innovations" was one of the most remarkable events of the first exhibition day. Felix Lunev, Director of Marketing and Sales Department of TNK Ukraine; Vitaly Fesoun, Chief of Optimization, Planning and Supervising Group of the company; and Julia Semenenko, Director of Advertising and PR Department of TNK of Ukraine, presented new developments.

New programs represent a system of solutions ensuring comprehensive approach to all lines of production activity of the company and automating the main business processes. The innovations enable the company to cover a huge retail network and fully observe the market situation.

The company also represented new quality control system to be implemented this year. The quality control system includes mobile laboratories enabling to make express analysis of oil quality; stationary labs accredited by bodies of the State Standard of Ukraine, regional inspectors exercising permanent on-line oil products quality and consumption control, and, finally, the stationary labs to be additionally equipped in Lisitchansk and Kirovograd.

BOSCH, the world's biggest independent developer and manufacturer of automotive spare parts and units, set forth the headline proposition for Ukrainian motor service companies. The regional department of BOSCH has presented a new franchise program.
