On May 25 through 30, the 12th Kyiv International SIA'2004 Motor Show was held on the ground of the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine". Organizers: Ministry of Transport of Ukraine, Association of Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, and AUTOEXPO Exhibition Company.

SIA'2004 had an honorary international status. The Motor Show was listed in the OICA Official Calendar of motor shows worldwide. Only two dozens of the world biggest motor shows fall thereto yearly. Therefore, the Secretary General of the World Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Mr. Yves van der Straaten came to the opening ceremony of the Motor Show.

The Motor Show SIA'2004 gathered 687 companies from more than 32 countries on the gross exhibition area of 55 thousand sq. m, including 11 pavilions and all outdoor grounds of the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine". Almost half a million people attended the Motor Show during the event opening hours from 10.00 to 20.00.

The companies from Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Denmark, Iran, Spain, Italy, China, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, The Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Taiwan, Turkey, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan exhibited at the Kyiv Motor Show.

Along with the above mentioned, numerous companies had a chance to display a great number of motor service equipment and related produce.

The fairs AutoExclusive and Ukraine Boat Expo as well as Bike Show first took place within the confines of the Motor Show.

AutoExclusive is the first trade fair, the essence of which lies in merging classics and up-to-dateness, traditions and vanguard, engineering and art. AutoExclusive demonstrated vintage, collection, classic and exotic cars and the best tuning patterns.

There were among the exhibitors of AutoExclusive: ENLUX, EURASIA S.P.A., MASTER-SPORT AUTUMOBILTECHNIK, NEXO, LAWU, RS-COMPETITION/DLR-TUNING, ZGT, AUTO AUDIOCENTER UKRAINE, AUTO ENGINEERING GROUP, AUTOMOTORFORUM, AUTORETRO, AUTOTUNING, AUTO TUNING GROUP, ART-TUNING, ATG, ATELIER AUTO DESIGN, BTR&DELTA 4x4, DATART, SAD, INVAR ENGINEERING, KAM, KREM TOL-AUTOTUNING, MARK, MOTORSPORT, PEPIKO, TERRITORY TUNING, TURBOMAGIA and others.

Ukraine Boat Expo featured cruisers, yachts, boats and different facilities for sports and leisure on the water. In 2002-2003, Ukraine Boat Expo was successfully developing as a separate fair within SIA. In 2004, however, it turned into a format of independent event.

There were among the exhibitors of Ukraine Boat Expo: SEALINE, ADVENTURE LAND, AQUA MARINE, AQUA MOTORS, AQUATECHS UKRAINE, ALMA MOTORS, BELTING, BRIG MOTORS, VECTOR DEUTZ AT, LEAGUE, LOTOS KYIV, ODYSSEY, PAN AUTO, PLAZ, RT COMPANY, YACHTING UKRAINE, etc.

A specialized Bike Show was dedicated to cycles and motorbikes as well as to various floating facilities on their base. The display of Bike Show was called to systemize and develop the profile represented at the Motor Show since long ago. The newest motorbike models from renowned BMW, KAWASAKI, SUZUKI, YAMAHA, RAKETA, DEFIANT, IZH, PLANETA and many other manufacturers were displayed. In addition to serial models, the display also included some homemade models from private collections.

The Motor Show program included many measures such as conferences, seminars, trainings, test-drives, tuning competitions, demonstration auto-performances. A non-stop show with the participation of prominent artists and the drawing of prizes from participating companies were coming about at the Central Scene of the Motor Show.

Some remarkable events at SIA'2004:

Nomination of the best cars displayed at the Motor Show is part and parcel of SIA. The automotive participating companies, who presented the best car models, were awarded the main prize of the Motor Show, Crystal Wheels. A professional jury of automotive experts and key journalists decided the faith of nominees for the honorary title. Only the nomination for The Viewers' Sympathy Prize was up to visitors of the Motor Show. On this occasion, a special polling form was placed in the organizer's web-site www.autoexpo.com.ua. Any comer to the Motor Show, who had an Internet access, could vote for beloved car at any time.

To facilitate the voting procedure, some special Internet-kiosks were placed all over the exhibition ground. Furthermore, these kiosks featured a navigation system searching for goods and companies available at the Motor Show.

The 12th Kyiv International SIA'2004 Motor Show was a place for "Buy a Lucky Entry Ticket and Be the Owner of Brand-new Car" Drawing. Everyone, who bought the entry ticket and completed the detachable stub and dropped the latter into a special box, had a chance to be the owner of Hyundai Sonata or VAZ-2107 car from AutoInvestStroy Corporation. The Azovchanka boat from Belting Company was another dedicated award of Ukraine Boat Expo.
