Constellation of the Best

Not without reason, the International SIA'2004 Motor Show is repeatedly listed in the official catalogue of the World Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). Every attendee of the press conference dedicated to the opening of the Motor Show was convinced of that. The AUTOEXPO Director General Nina Dyatlova; Director General of All-Ukrainian Association of Automobile Importers and Dealers O. Nazarenko as well as executives of Ukraine's leading automotive companies took part in the press conference.

Having been listed in OICA Calendar, SIA got into the company of the 20 most prestigious events in the world, along with Geneva, Detroit, Paris, and other globally known motor shows. Let us compare: in 1998, FORD presented a 3-year antiquity minivan as a brand new vehicle. Now, the Motor Show represents to the public the premiers of Western Europe and even conceptual models.

Director General of AWT Bavaria O. Timofeyev wished the Motor Show to develop and informed about novelties displayed at the current SIA. The seventh armoured BMW series was the most interesting exhibit. Furthermore, the sixth BMW series of this year was represented with coupe and cabriolet as well as with X3. However, a striking custom-tailored INDIVIDUAL series aroused the greatest interest.

NISSAN has been operating in the Ukrainian market since 1992. In view of Nissan Trading Europe Ltd. Head O. Krushelnytsky, the Ukrainian automotive market today is on the rise. Therefore, it would be a pity to miss a chance for exhibiting. Thus, the Nissan management has considered the company participation in the Motor Show as a necessary condition for further development.

Renault's Formula of Success

Yesterday, one of the biggest exhibitors of the Motor Show celebrated the day of its trademark.

Renault presented 6 novelties at SIA'2004. Not hiding his satisfaction, the chief of Renault Ukraine Office Ferrid Annabi reminded that only few competitors could brag about such a success. Mainly, it was Renault Megan-2 line with different bodies: sedan to coupe-cabriolet plus new Traffic commercial vehicle. Renault is ahead of his competitors in Western Europe. In Ukraine, Renault sold 3,440 automobiles. Ferrid Annabi emphasized that Renault's formula of success consists of three components: product, image, and dealer network. As for the latter, Renault built it up to 16 companies in Ukraine. And this figure does not seem to be final.

SIA'2004 Justifies the International Recognition

Yesterday, the OICA Secretary General Mr. Yves van der Straaten came from Paris to visit the Motor Show.

Now, OICA unites over 40 prominent motor vehicle manufacturers. The Organization sets the main problem to protect the interests of automakers worldwide. In order to be worthy of being listed in the OICA Calendar, a prospective organizer of motor shows has to be supported by national motor vehicle manufacturer. Besides, the application for membership is subject to thorough consideration by OICA members. Only in case they acknowledge the motor show importance for the development of global automotive industry, the applicant will be affiliated.

SIA'2004 has met all hard requirements of the OICA Committee and deserved the right to be called one of the biggest motor shows listed in the OICA Calendar.
